Fobbit Intervals: A fun way to do conditioning
I love the idea of being fit. Unfortunately, I also hate doing cardio.
Yep, it's a small problem. Here's a good workout to break up the monotony of pure running. It’s from K Black's book Tactical Barbell II: Conditioning.
This is one of the many workouts in the book that focuses on improving strength and conditioning for tactical law enforcement candidates and soldiers. The training can’t overshadow the need to perform at work, making it a great complement to general strength training.

The workout is “Fobbit Intervals” and it goes like this:
Treadmill Run/Row/Skip x 2 Minutes
Kettlebell Swings x 20
Run/Row/Skip x 2 Minutes
Kettlebell Snatch x 10/arm
Repeat x 20 minutes
For this one, you’ll set the treadmill at a pace slightly slower than a jog. You can use different weights for the swings and snatches.
I like this format as it's easy to adapt depending on the training effect you want. It can be short and intense or long and paced.
